Project Concept

1. Study and design the details of the 2-lane road construction, drainage system, and a bridge crossing the Mekong River of Chiangman – Luang Prabang connects Hongsa – Ban Chiangman road to Route no. 13 of Lao PDR, both physical and strength to match the current and future traffic volumes, with the Chiangman-Luang Prabang Bridge has spanning the Mekong River about 540 meters. The Lao PDR defines the location of the Chiangman-Luang Prabang Bridge, above Luang Prabang International Airport. Which will be in the area of Ferry (Old Pier), which is used to travel to the Royal Palace of Luang Prabang, as well as propose at least 3 architectural styles of the bridge according to the guidelines and scope of operations, which is consisting of 

 

  • Design of the Chiangman-Luang Prabang Bridge.
  • Design Access Road that connects the bridge to road from HongsaDistrict – Ban Chiangman.
  • Design Access Road that connects the bridge to Route 13.
  • Survey and determine the location of intersections, drainage systems.
  • Survey and determine the installation location of traffic signs, route lighting and traffic signal (if necessary) for safety at risk areas.
  • Estimate construction costs.
  • Prepare Bidding Documents for bridge construction.

 

2. Review the results of the study on the economic, engineering and social suitability of the road development project from Hongsa District – Ban Chiangman (Chomphet District, Luang Prabang Province), Lao PDR by collecting and analyzing data of economy, society, traffic and transport, feasibility of the project, cost-effectiveness, benefits, impact of the project, development guidelines and traffic forecasts, including assessing the environmental impact of Chiangman – Luang Prabang Bridge construction, the consultant will prepare a report on economic, engineering and social, including Environmental Impact Assessment: EIA.
